Madame Gun is a Chicago-based alternative rock group blending post-grunge intensity, desert-rock grit, and melodic hooks. Their sound is dark, groove-driven, and cinematic—built on raw power, tension, and atmosphere.
Formed in 2018, the band began after Rob and Sean met while performing in a Nirvana tribute project. Both were also members of Chicago grunge outfit Dead Original, opening for nationally recognized acts including Jonathan Davis, Seether and Candlebox. During this period, early demos were developed that would later become Madame Gun’s first singles.
Influenced by Queens of the Stone Age, Royal Blood, and Muse, Madame Gun crafts heavy, minimalist rock with modern edge and emotional weight. The band’s name draws inspiration from their Chicago roots, partially referencing Billy Corgan’s iconic tea shop, Madame Zuzu’s.
In 2023, Madame Gun entered the studio to begin work on their debut full-length album, scheduled for release in Summer 2026. Known for their commanding live presence and uncompromising sound, Madame Gun continues to establish themselves as a rising force in alternative rock.
